This stamp collection is by no means complete, but the former owner has collected some collectible items. There are several early Washington stamps, including 1851, 1857, 1861, 1867, 1870, 1873, 1879, 1881, 1887, 1890, 1894, 1895, 1910, 1912, 1914, 1916, 1917, 1918, 1919, 1922, 1923, 1926 and 1929. There are a few Franklin early stamps in the book, including 1898, 1902 and 1908. There are several issues in the book, including a 10 stamp issue from 1931 and two Washington stamps from the 1932 issue. There also appears to be a full selection of stamps issued during 1938-43. There's also a set from 1954 to 60 which features presidents, patriots and shrines. There's a partial set of stamps from the Columbian Exposition of 1893, the fast express stamp from the Pan-American exposition in 1901 and an Edison stamp, rotary press from 1929. The book also includes the Washington bicentennial set of 1932. This set includes the hard-to-find blue Washington five cents stamp. It also contains the Mother's Day stamp from 1934 featuring Whistler. There's also a national park 1934 set as well as a 1935 special printings national Park. Finally, the book has a very good collection with most of the offering's present of United States commemorative stamps from roughly 1935 to 1965.
This would include the 1936 Army set and Navy set. It also includes famous Americans, authors, poets, educators, scientist, composers, artist, inventors. There's also a flag set from 1943, which features Axis overrun countries with a Phoenix on the stamp. As stated, the book is far from full but has a lot of really nice offerings. None of these are graded, and as mentioned most are canceled, although not all.
There're a few noticeable defects, but most of the stamps appear to be in good to very good condition. Please check the photos closely for additional details.
