OLD-TIME INDIA STATES COLLECTION - 19TH CENTURY TO 1940s - LOADED WITH FEUDATORY STATES. A fascinating old collector-built India and Indian States collection housed in a vintage Scott Specialty album, with an impressive concentration of the difficult and endlessly collectible Feudatory States. This is not a modern packet or beginner accumulation. The collection was assembled and studied by an earlier specialist, with numerous catalog numbers, varieties and old values penciled alongside the stamps. The collection includes strong representation of. Cochin - Extensive Official issues with numerous "ON C G S" overprints, surcharges and varieties, running from the early 1900s through the 1940s. Jammu & Kashmir - A particularly interesting group of 19th-century native-script imperforate issues, including numerous different printings, colors and types.

Travancore - Extensive representation from the early Conch Shell issues through surcharges, later pictorials and Travancore-Cochin period material. Also represented are Faridkot, Nandgaon, Nowanuggur, Sirmoor, Soruth and additional Indian States, along with revenues and other unusual material. Throughout the album are 19th-century stamps, imperforates, primitive native-state issues, Officials, surcharges, overprints, revenues, multiples, varieties and specialized material that deserves careful examination. There are many stamps here that are simply not encountered in ordinary worldwide collections.
