Lifetime Original Collection in Old Imperial Album Penny Blacks, China Huge CV

  
This is a simply amazing, single album collection. I've headed this as a'lifetime' collection but I expect it to be compiled over more than one lifetime. The album itself is a sixth edition with the preface dated September 1862. I would imagine the collection commenced around this time and later handed down through family and rather than advance to newer albums, the owner decided to continue to fill this old album with later issues, but nothing after George VI (and there are just a smattering of stamps from this period). All this has culminated in a'well used' album - the covers are loose, as are some pages, and there are various other leaves that have been inserted over time. However, generally speaking, the pages themselves have survived remarkably well the countless years of page turning and it has brought about a charming and treasured single album collection of great quantity and value. There are many thousands of stamps from earliest issues onwards, in fact the earliest, with 3 penny blacks and a lovely Mulready envelope.

There are stamps of high value throughout, some which need searching for a little given how the country collections have become slightly haphazard over time given the continual addition of stamps. It is worth mentioning the super strong Asia section, with massive value in China and areas, but also India and States, Hong Kong, Japan and areas such as Turkey and Persia. Everything is as received by me so it is unchecked for anything, including condition and authenticity. Given the generations this album has survived I expect some stamps will be stuck down and of course condition will be mixed throughout. All in all this is a great opportunity to acquire a loaded old time original collection which has stood the test of time.
